What does mission look like right outside our church doors? How can our churches use the people, gifts, resources—and even the property—God has entrusted to us to make a difference in our communities?

We invite you to join us on Saturday, October 3rd at the First Baptist Church in Westwood for MissionWorks 2026, a day of inspiration, conversation, learning, and connection as we turn our attention toward home missions and creative ministry in our local communities.

This year, we are encouraging churches to think outside the box. Ministry does not have to look the way it has always looked. Our buildings can be more than places we gather on Sunday mornings. Our property can become a resource for the community. Our congregations can discover new partnerships and new opportunities to meet real needs, build relationships, and share the hope of Christ in meaningful ways.

Throughout the day, participants will have the opportunity to attend workshops highlighting creative approaches to home mission and community ministry. We will also gather for a special panel discussion focused on community engagement and the creative use of church property—exploring how churches can look at what they already have with fresh eyes and ask, “How might God use this for mission?”

Whether your congregation is thriving, rebuilding, discerning its next chapter, or simply looking for new ways to connect with its neighbors, MissionWorks is an opportunity to learn from one another, share ideas, and imagine new possibilities together.

Our theme, “Rooted in Christ: Rising in Hope,” reminds us that creativity in ministry does not mean abandoning our foundation. Quite the opposite. Because we are deeply rooted in Christ, we are free to reach outward, try something new, and rise with hope to meet the needs of a changing world.
