Rev. Devlin Scott is a pastor, church planter, and community leader committed to Christian unity, racial justice, and the flourishing of communities. He currently serves as Lead Pastor of NewCity Church in Newton, Massachusetts, and Managing Director of UniteBoston, where his work brings together faith, relationship-building, strategic leadership, and community engagement.

A native of inner-city Chicago, Rev. Scott earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and Biblical Studies from Trinity International University, where he met his wife, Katie. He later earned a Master of Divinity from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School and a Master of Arts in Bioethics from Trinity Graduate School.

Rev. Scott’s journey into church planting began after he and Katie served for seven years at Northwest Assembly of God in Mount Prospect, Illinois. In 2012, they began sensing God’s call to plant a church, and in 2016 that calling led them to Newton, Massachusetts. After visiting the area and discerning where God was leading them, they launched NewCity Church in 2017 with a vision of creating a faith community that would reimagine what it means to encounter God and experience church in everyday life while sharing the love of Christ throughout Newton and its surrounding communities.

Alongside his pastoral ministry, Rev. Scott serves as Managing Director of UniteBoston, an organization dedicated to cultivating Christian unity across historic divides. In this role, he helps lead communications, strategic partnerships, programming, and community initiatives that bring Christians together across racial, denominational, cultural, and socioeconomic differences.

Rev. Scott describes his calling through three interconnected commitments: being a cultural driver, willing to engage the significant conversations shaping our communities; a justice seeker, committed to confronting injustice through meaningful dialogue and action; and a Gospel bearer, bringing the hope and transforming message of Jesus Christ into the realities of contemporary life.

At the heart of Rev. Scott’s ministry is a deeply relational approach to leadership. Whether pastoring a congregation, building partnerships, or helping bridge divides within the broader Christian community, he seeks to create spaces where relationships can deepen, difficult conversations can take place, and individuals and communities can move toward greater unity, justice, and wholeness.

Rev. Scott and his wife, Katie, make their home in the Greater Boston area with their family. Together, they share a commitment to faith, family, and seeing communities transformed through the love of Christ.
