Matthew 25 Grants
The Matthew 25 Grant is designed to channel gifts to help meet the needs of “housing, feeding, education and health with regard to the less fortunate.” The grants are made possible by a generous, anonymous donor whose primary wish is to support initiatives that ameliorate poverty.


American Baptist Churches of Massachusetts Church Mortgages
The Relationship Ministries Team awards grants to assist eligible churches in the following ways: reduction of mortgage principal, student loan repayment for pastors and church staff, assistance with stipend positions for growing ministries, new church/ministry support, collaborative ministry partnerships between TABCOM churches, and building projects to improve accessibility and energy efficiency. Camp Scholarships
Our camping ministries at Grotonwood and Oceanwood have a variety of ways to help those who are in need of financial assistance. Call the Grotonwood camp office at (978) 448-5763 or email to the camp at office@grotonwood.org to review the options available to you or your church.

Scholarships for Youth
Some scholarship monies are available to help minimize the cost for American Baptist youth and youth ministers to attend such life-changing events as MissionAdventures and MissionWorks, the national youth gathering, Mission Summit (Biennial), ABGIRLS programs, Leadership Development Day and camp programs. American Baptist FoundationPalmer Grant
The permanently endowed Virginia and Gordon Palmer Trust of the American Baptist Foundation partners with American Baptist Home Mission Societies to fund special projects and programs of local congregations, regional ministries, colleges, universities, and institutions related to the American Baptist Churches. An annual theme determines focus for each year’s project. For example, the 2016 theme for grant applicants was “Alternative Models for Developing Leadership for Mission and Ministry”.

The Children in Poverty grant has been supporting the child-empowering projects of American Baptist congregations and related organizations since 2009. In the past, grants have been awarded to projects that have sought to improve children’s math and literacy skills, provide nutrition and basic needs, raise awareness of children’s needs, prepare youth for college, provide English as a Second Language classes and job training for parents, address bullying and partner with schools to benefit children. American Baptist Women of Massachusetts
Scholarships for higher education and conferences are available for women and girls who apply and qualify. Contact the AB Women of Massachusetts at abwmass@gmail.com.


Conference of Baptist Ministers
The Conference of Baptist Ministers has a variety of scholarships available for higher education and continuing education, and awards grants to ministers for emergency assistance and retirement. Contact Michael Harvey, Executive Director, at (508) 868-3358 or email to cbmm@charter.net.


Massachusetts Baptist Charitable Society
The Mass. American Baptist Charitable Society provides grants for ministers with ABC standing in our region. Grants are available for:
  • financial need to clergy and their families
  • widows and widowers of TABCOM clergy.
  • clergy to repay educational loans undertaken in their preparation for ordained ministry;
  • scholarships to clergy pursuing post-MDiv degrees at recognized educational institutions;
  • assistance to retired TABCOM clergy with non-reimbursed medical and prescription drug expenses;
  • sabbatical grants for MA clergy; and
  • to children of TABCOM clergy ages 16-24 to participate in a Career Finder program

Green Lake Conference Center
Scholarships are available for both lay persons and clergy to attending Green Lake-sponsored conferences. Scholarships depend on the length of the conference and distance traveled to Green Lake. For more information, visit the Green Lake scholarship page or call (414) 294-3323.

Northern Baptist Education Society
The Northern Baptist Education Society has granted scholarships to divinity students since 1791. Men and women enrolled in Master of Divinity degree programs who are members of American Baptist churches in Massachusetts, Vermont, New Hampshire, or Maine are eligible for scholarships, as are American Baptist students who attend a theological school in one of these four states. Students enrolled with the TABCOM School of Ministry may also be eligible. Samuel Stillman Association
The Samuel Stillman Association has grants available for:
  • youth to attend ABC USA and camping ministry programs,
  • seminarians
  • grants to churches to initiate projects to help those in need and to strengthen the local churches by “hands on” community outreach, and to encourage the churches to become involved in the work of the SSA and TABCOM. Visit the SSA scholarship page for more information.
