Creation Care Ministries
Creation Care Ministries is working to educate and inform all of us about the serious environmental issues, such as global warming, that affect us all. This ministry also seeks to help churches assess and improve their own buildings’ energy efficiency, which is good for the environment and long-term energy-savings for churches.
What’s Your Carbon Footprint
Don’t Be Afraid of This Audit!
Did you know that LED light bulbs use 85% less energy than incandescent lights? Water heaters vs. On Demand hot water-which would be best for your congregation? If your church spends more than 19% of the budget paying for energy bills, an energy audit of the building should be done.
Simple recommendations could help you save money, keep the house of worship heated efficiently and lessen the gallons of water pouring out of the faucet. Let us encourage one another to be better stewards of the environment. The Mass Interfaith Power & Light is a good local resource for all houses of worship. Visit their site at www.MIPandL.org.
If you want to learn more about helping our churches respond to environmental challenges, contact our Creation Care Coordinator, Kristina Keefe-Perry. Kristina is available by email at kristina@commonstreet.org or by phone at (831) 345-2349.
